Warm Clothing Donation Helps Nottingham's Homeless

Life for some of Nottingham’s homeless community is about to get slightly more comfortable and less cold thanks to the donation of warm winter fleeces, jackets and polo shirts by Pellacraft.

The donation has been made to the homelessness charity Framework, together with a cash donation of £1,000 towards their ‘off the streets campaign.’ In total, Pellacraft has provided over £2,000 of support.

The ‘Off The Streets campaign’ has committed to raising £225,000 to provide services which will help the charity to continue their life-changing work to engage, rehouse, rehabilitate and reconnect people who have been made homeless.

It is widely reported that there is a national rough sleeping crisis. The number of rough sleepers is at record levels. In September 2017, Framework found 43 people sleeping out on a single night in Nottingham alone – more than ever before.

Commenting, Pellacraft Director, Samantha Pella, said, “Framework and other homeless charities desperately need and appreciate support from businesses who are willing to organise their own fund raising initiatives, take part in arranged events or simply make financial donations. Pellacraft has supported Framework for a number of years and as a workwear supplier we were able to do something slightly different by sourcing winter jackets, fleeces and polo shirts that we could donate.”

Olivia Wood, Corporate Fundraiser from Framework added, “Framework run a number of appeals throughout the year and have been working closely with Pellacraft to ensure their support can help our most crucial projects. The provision of clean, warm clothing as part of the ‘off the streets’ campaign is an important aspect of helping the homeless rebuild their lives.”

The clothing will be handed out on a gradual basis over the next couple of months at the Sherwood Street Centre in Mansfield to the 15 people who live there and to other homeless people who come into contact with the service.
