Charity Sky Dive for Framework

When Kate Bradshaw, purchased a sky dive as a birthday present for her father’s 69th birthday, little did she expect to also be completing the dive at the same time.

Kate (37), who is Pellacraft’s marketing assistant completed the dive with her Father at Langar Airfield on 8th October raising another £300 for the homeless charity Framework.

Framework is Pellacraft’s nominated charity and, if they wish to, staff are encouraged to help the company raise more money by doing their own independent activities.

Commenting Kate, who lives in Mansfield said, “When my colleagues said they would sponsor me to do the sky dive at the same time as my Father it seemed like a good idea. Whilst it was scary, I was thrilled that I had the courage to jump out of the airplane. It was great to do something together with my Dad whilst at the same time know that I would be helping a homeless person.”

The money raised will be given to Framework’s Sherwood Street Centre in Mansfield, which offers 15 units of high quality emergency accommodation for people who have either been sleeping rough or at immediate risk of doing so. The service, which accommodates some of the most vulnerable local people, is staffed 24 hours a day and is designed to help residents along a journey to independent living in the community.

Pellacraft has been supporting Framework since 2015 and the team has participated in a number of activities to raise money. These include donating Easter Eggs and Christmas dinners, completing the vibrant 5k colour “Runga Run” and other independent initiatives. To date, the total raised by all activities is in excess of £8,000.
